Project Description:

This project proposes to re-stripe and add a road transformation, rumble strips and sidewalk installation on the northside of State Route 22/Eisenhower Parkway in Bibb County. These safety improvements are expected to be delivered as a single safety funded project with the addition of the signalized Restricted Crossing U-Turn at Anthony Terrace and unsignalized Restricted Crossing U-Turn at Pine Street/Laveta Drive. In addition to the safety improvements being proposed, it is recommended that the long-term improvements include lighting and installing sidewalks on the south side of State Route 22/Eisenhower Parkway connecting the east and west of the existing sidewalks at the intersection of SR22/Eisenhower Parkway at State Route 247/Pio Nono Avenue. The local government, Macon-Bibb County, has committed to contributing the full amount of the costs required to build the sidewalks along State Route 22.
