Project Description:

The Office of Planning requests the programming of a new scoping study as referenced in the table below in response to a request received from the Gainesville Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization/Jackson County to study the feasibility of a State Route (SR) 53 Bypass. The overall purpose of the study is to determine possible transportation improvement alternatives to accomplish the primary goal of reducing congestion along the corridor between the cities of Braselton and Hoschton including the prohibition of through truck traffic along SR 53. The project should be assigned to the Office of Program Delivery.
