Project Description:
I-16 EB & WB @ Walnut Creek 1 mile east of Macon. The project extends approximately 2000 feet east and 1800 feet west from the center of the existing bridge. The proposed project would replace the existing bridges with proposed bridges over Walnut Creek. The total project length is approximately 0.8 miles long. (Note that the total project length includes the distance necessary for staging and traffic shifts to use a temporary bridge in the median). Proposed bridges are to be replaced at the location of the existing EB and WB bridges. A temporary bridge would be used in the median to maintain traffic throughout construction.
