George L. Smith Park

The Watson Mill Bridge, named for Hubert Watson, in George L. Smith State Park, is unique among Georgia's covered bridges. Bridges were often associated with mills. In the case of this bridge, the bridge and mill are one building.

The mill is built over a dam and powered by water going over this dam. Doors at either end of the mill allow through traffic, technically qualifying this mill as a covered bridge.
