History of Road Building in Georgia
Georgia DOT has begun research on the history of road building in Georgia and the role that roads have had in the state’s history.
Historical and Archaeological Study of US 80 (Louisville Road)
Georgia DOT also researched the Corduroy Road segment along US 80 in Chatham and Effingham Counties to determine how it was built. This research supplied insights into historical road building methods used in Georgia.
