Transportation Investment Act
The Transportation Referendum passed in the regions of Central Savannah, Heart of Georgia and River Valley. These regions will implement a one percent regional sales tax to fund transportation improvements. Collection of funds will begin on January 1, 2013. Funds will be distributed for building projects in early Spring 2013.

First TIA Project Beginning in Toombs County The State Transportation Board and Georgia DOT officials announced the first local TIA funded project is set to begin on SR 130 in Toombs County. The project will add a dedicated turn lane to serve a new pet food manufacturing facility that will bring a $25 million private capital investment and between 100 and 150 new jobs to the area. |
