International Walk to School Day, October 3, 2007

In 2007, more than 5,000 schools in the United States participated in International Walk to School Day.  Approximately four million people in 42 countries participated on this day.  In Georgia, we had 54 schools register on-line for International Walk to School Day.

The Georgia Department of Transportation joined the celebration at Morris Brandon Elementary School in Atlanta, GA.  Georgia DOT Commissioner Harold Linnenkohl greeted students and parents at Morris Brandon Elementary in the morning as hundreds of students walked or biked to school to celebrate International Walk to School Day.
