Metro Atlanta Safe Routes to School Pilot Project

This is the first comprehensive program to promote walking and biking to school in the state of Georgia, with funding by the Georgia Department of Transportation in association with the Federal Highway Administration. The project's concept was developed by the Metro Atlanta Safe Routes to School Coalition and the day-to-day implementation is carried out by the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign, a coalition member.

KidsWalk: a Safe Routes to School Program for the Atlanta Region

Safe Routes to School Program, sponsored cooperatively through the Atlanta Regional Commission, Pedestrians Educating Drivers on Safety (PEDS), Atlanta Bicycle Campaign (ABC), and Georgia Department of Transportation. This program is designed to bring together parents, kids, government officials, law enforcement officers, and community members in the Atlanta region to provide opportunities for children to walk to school safely.

SRTS-Bike Athens

The Clarke County School District and BikeAthens have teamed up to initiate a Safe Routes to School program for our public schools. This initiative, called Safe Routes Athens, started modestly but enthusiastically in 2005 at Barrow Elementary.

Clean Air Campaign Better Air School

The Better Air Schools program is an innovative and comprehensive education outreach program that engages the entire school community to not only get educated about the issues but motivate change.
