CMAQ - Transit
Transit and Public Transportation
Spending CMAQ funding on public transportation is limited to: service or system expansion (e.g. purchase of new buses), provision of new transit service, and financial incentives to encourage new or increased rider-ship of existing services by offsetting the costs of providing free or reduced price fare. CMAQ cannot be the permanent source of funding for transit services, but is eligible to initiate new systems or programs.
