Bulloch County - City of Statesboro Long Range Transportation Plan
In September 2009, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), along with Bulloch County and the City of Statesboro, completed the Bulloch County-City of Statesboro Long Range Transportation Plan that developed a multi-modal transportation plan for the entire county. This study was conducted by GDOT and utilized the consultant services of the HNTB Corporation.
The purpose of this study was to develop a transportation plan for Bulloch County that provides policy guidance and project recommendations to improve the transportation infrastructure needed to satisfy future travel demand. This study evaluated the current and future transportation needs up to the year 2035.
Public participation was a key component of this study. The study developed a Public Participation Plan and documented the input of local stakeholders and the general public. As part of the public participation process, the study advisory committee was utilized within Bulloch County for the study. Public Meetings were held as part of the study. The public meetings were held in Statesboro on March 19, 2009 and May 28, 2009.
