Carroll County - Long Range Transportation Study

Survey

In October 2012, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) initiated work to develop a Long Range Transportation Study for Carroll County. The study is being conducted in coordination with Carroll County and is intended to address the transportation needs of Carroll County for the next 25 years.

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to develop a transportation plan for Carroll County that provides local stakeholders project recommendations to improve the transportation infrastructure needed to satisfy future travel demand. This study will evaluate the current and future transportation needs up to the year 2040. The study will also incorporate the Governor’s strategic goals for the state, which include improving the movement of people and goods, providing adequate infrastructure to support Georgia’s role as a logistic hub and improving safety on Georgia’s roads. The study will also focus on improving connectivity, access, and safety to important locations throughout the County, including schools, commerce centers, the industrial areas, colleges, parks, and other important locations.
