Project Coordinating Committee (PCC)

A Project Coordinating Committee has been established to guide the study and provide ongoing direction and advice to the Consultant Team throughout the project. Membership will include the main agencies involved in the study: GDOT,  The National Park Service (NPS)FHWA Eastern Federal LandsChattanooga Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency, and Coosa Valley Regional Development Center.

Stakeholder Participation Panel (SPP)

A core group of stakeholders with a strong interest in the study and its recommendations will serve in an advisory role and be actively involved in all phases of the study. The SPP will work closely with the PCC and Consultant Team in issues identification and the development and evaluation of transportation alternatives.

SPP representation will include local governments, business associations, local historic preservation groups, and national groups with an interest in the CCNMP, including the Civil War Preservation Trust and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

General Public

The general public and other groups who have an interest in the study will also be consulted as part of the study's public involvement process. This group will primarily be used to provide feedback on findings and recommendations emerging at key phases of the study, including evaluation measures, needs, deficiencies, and recommended alternatives.

Some of the stakeholders that are envisioned as members of this group include local businesses, especially those potentially affected by an increase in traffic, groups promoting tourism, and community residents.
