View non-eligible project list Phase I
Thank you for your response to the State Transportation Board’s request for projects in your area to be considered for funding by transportation stimulus appropriations.
Since the Board issued that request in December 2008, we have received an estimated 850 projects for consideration from around the state, including your project(s). Since December, the federal requirements for the ARRA of 2009 transportation funding have been finalized. All of the local project submissions were individually reviewed for compliance with the federal requirements.
If a project you’ve submitted is no longer under consideration, and determined to be ineligible, we have also posted a brief description of the reason(s) why that determination has been made. The federal requirements on these stimulus funds have been very clearly delineated, including:
- Maximize job creation and economic benefit
- Project “readiness” to meet phase one (120 days) and phase two (one year from now)deadlines;
- Inclusion of projects in the state’s economically distressed areas (EDAs)
- Completion within three years/expenses completed by February 17, 2012
Our final project list will be made public very soon.
We sincerely appreciate your efforts to help us identify projects in your county. If you have additional questions, please review the FAQs section of this Web page -- they may answer your general questions, or you may submit comments and questions via email from this Web page.
Thank you again for your submission, and for your role in building a better transportation system for Georgia's citizens.
