US 411 Connector Environmental Documentation
GDOT, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has completed the Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FSEIS) for the US 411 Connector project. Similar to the DSEIS review, a Notice of Availability was published in the Federal Register (September 14, 2007) as well as in local notices and press releases. The FSEIS document was available to the public and regulatory agencies for review until the end of the comment period, which closed on October 15, 2007.
Upon completion of the upcoming PIOH, FHWA will issue and circulate a Record of Decision (ROD), which is the final decision of the NEPA process. The ROD will provide a concise public record of the decision, by stating what the decision is; identifying what alternatives were considered; comparing the various considerations among alternatives; and identifying the factors that were balanced in making the decision. The ROD will make a finding as to whether or not all practicable means to avoid or minimize environmental harm have been adopted. Commitments to environmental mitigation and monitoring of mitigation will be summarized as applicable.
