Vegetation Management at Outdoor Advertising
Vegetation Management is a program that allows limited vegetation removal on state right of way to create a Sign Viewing Zone. Limited Vegetation Management is allowed for legally erected conforming and non-conforming outdoor advertising signs that have been permitted through the Georgia DOT for a minimum of five (5) years.
The revenue from this permit program provides funding for GATEway Grants. These grants are used for landscape plant material and its installation for the furtherance of roadside enhancement and beautification projects along state routes in Georgia.
|Announcement - UPDATED 9/11/13|
The Department is now accepting vegetation management applications for active outdoor advertising permits throughout the state; however, due to a court ordered injunction the Department is currently unable to accept any vegetation management applications for locations in Columbus and Muscogee county, Georgia.
