The Public Involvement Plan is designed to ensure and enhance the Department’s compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and policies that guide public involvement in project development.
Georgia DOT has several programs aimed at improving and preserving our transportation system. Our agency has also designed programs that increase roadway safety for travelers.
The proposed project would widen 2.7 miles of CR 72/Cedarcrest Road from Harmony Grove Church to the Cobb and Paulding County line to four 11-foot travel lanes. The typical section would include a 20-foot raised median outside curb and gutter, 10-foot shoulder and 5-foot sidewalks along both sides of the roadway. Median breaks would be provided for vehicles turning at key intersections and midblock locations. The roadways posted speed limit would be 45 miles per hour (mph).
