Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study

In 2019, the Georgia Department of Transportation initiated a Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study to determine the annual impact of the state’s public airports. The study, which will be published in October 2020, estimates the economic impact for 102 public use airports. Economic impacts for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) were obtained from a separate study conducted by the City of Atlanta. Since a similar study was used to estimate annual economic impacts for ATL, the findings from the two separate efforts will be combined to produce an overall statewide economic impact total. It is important to note that all economic impacts documented in this study reflect conditions prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 Upcoming Meetings

The Department is holding a virtual public meeting to present the findings from the economic impacts study. There will be two opportunities for stakeholders and the general public to review the presentation:
