      Overview

      CHAMP is Georgia DOT’s new roadside assistance and maintenance program covering interstates outside of Metro Atlanta (except I-59 and I-24). This program is an integral part of our goal to provide safe and maintained roadways, support emergency responders and assist motorists outside of the HERO covered area in Metro Atlanta.

      NOTE: CHAMP is not a part of Georgia DOT's Highway Emergency Response Operator (HERO) program.  Both however, are crucial to Georgia DOT's statewide highway safety partnership. CHAMP is made possible through funding created by the Transportation Funding Act of 2015.

      Motorists traveling on interstates outside the Metro Atlanta area can reach CHAMP statewide by calling 5-1-1. Please remember to slow down and Move Over one lane when CHAMPs are working – IT IS THE LAW!
