Permits

The Georgia DOT provides a variety of transportation and roadside permits. Please review the list below and select the appropriate permit.

Oversize Truck Permit

Residents may obtain permits for vehicles that exceed legal weight and size (oversize/overweight), according to Georgia law (Code 32—Georgia Traffic Law Manual) through the Oversize Permit Unit. This unit provides the following permits

Driveway & Special Encroachment Permits

The Georgia DOT offers permits for constructing a legal driveway within the State Highway rights-of-way.

Vegetation Management at Outdoor Advertising

The Georgia DOT oversees the Vegetation Management program and permit process, which allows limited vegetation removal on state right of way to create a Sign Viewing Zone.

Cruise Cards

The Georgia State Road and Tollway Authority issues Cruise Cards, which allow motorists to travel through toll booths without having to stop and pay.

LOGO Sign Program (Advertisement Signs on Roadway)
