Georgia DOT is developing potential improvements along US 441 from Madison Bypass in Morgan County to Watkinsville Bypass in Oconee County.
In fall 2016, Georgia DOT hosted a survey to determine the transportation needs and local priorities for the US 441 corridor using MetroQuest online community engagement software. The MetroQuest interactive platform encouraged respondents to rank their priorities, name specific needs or concerns related to those priorities, add written comments, and even map locations of existing or potential issues along US 441. From October 11 to November 18, 2016, survey respondents could access the online survey from the GDOT US 441 project website or fill out a paper version available at project Public Information Open Houses (PIOHs).

Georgia DOT recently began a maintenance project on SR 24/US 441 that will consist of milling, resurfacing, and restriping SR 24/US 441 from the Morgan County line to just north of Thomas Farm Road. The road hasn’t been resurfaced since 2004. The project was let to construction in May 2016. Construction is expected to be completed within 12 months following the issuance of the notice to proceed. The typical paving season is from March through November.
