Summer Construction

Each year, Georgia DOT provides a statewide list of construction projects that may impact travel on major highways during the summer. A new list of summer construction projects will be available in May 2018

 Summer Construction is Here

It's statewide summer construction season and Georgia DOT has hundreds of construction and maintenance projects that support Georgia's growing economy and improve mobility, safety and travel times. Over the course of the summer construction season, Georgia DOT will feature major impact projects located across the state.

      Hands Free Law

Motorists should be aware that Georgia’s new Hands-Free Law goes into effect July 1. The new laws states drivers cannot have a phone in their hand or use any part of their body to support their phone. Drivers can only use their phones to make or receive phone calls by using speakerphone, earpiece, wireless headphone, phone is connected to vehicle or an electronic watch.

The Department also has an urgent safety reminder for motorists: please drive alert and use extra caution when traveling through work zones
