Now you can take a tour of Georgia’s rich transportation history right from your computer.   Discover history, engineering, scenic byways, and historic corridors that shaped Georgia’s roads over the past hundred years.  To start your GDOT Centennial Road Trip just follow the steps below.

Satellite Imagery

Use Google Earth’s free features to see historic satellite imagery, or “Google Street View” to take a drive down a scenic byway. View engaging historic artifacts from around the state -  divided by GDOT districts. Choose areas to view based on region. Click on the Road Trip destination placemark to bring up a picture with interesting information and a link to learn more.

Driving Directions

Use Google Earth to get driving directions to visit your favorite Road Trip destinations in person. See pictures of destinations that have been added to Google Earth by other users. When you visit in person,  add your own.  Many of Georgia’s historic bridges and byways are close.

The list is divided by GDOT Districts so you can choose which area you would like to view depending on which region you are interested in visiting.
